Conservatories from companies such as Richmond Oak
only use seasoned oak. These are designed for the long term. Seasoned oak is arguably the most durable material in
hardwood conservatory production and can last for centuries.
The timber is air dried in the natural elements to the correct moisture content. It is then laminated for extra stability.
Mortise and tendon joints are used for the window frames
and doors, whereas roof rafters are bird mouthed over the outer pan rail. Where necessary, finger jointing is undertaken for longer elements. All frames are further reinforced with joining beads
to ensure that they are stable and level. |
