Only powder coated aluminium capping should be used on the
roof to weatherproof the glass. These should last in excess of
20 years before any further treatment is necessary.
Wood stains and Micro-porous paints should be re-applied every
5 years. With high resin hardwoods like teak and oak these
should be applied more regularly.
However, if you require a weathered look with oak, teak or
iroko then oil infrequently and allow the timber to age and
silver in the sun. If you require a more modern oak look then
oil more frequently.
Door and window locking system should be cleaned regularly and
lightly oiled every six months. |
