Wood uses a fraction of the energy required in producing non
natural alternatives such as PVCu. Cutting older trees and
replanting forestry helps the environment as young trees produce
more oxygen and reduces carbon dioxide.
Most people are unaware that there is actually considerably
more forestry in Europe today than 100 years ago. Some countries
including Sweden, the UK and Poland have been particularly
diligent in replanting trees over the last century. This is not
the case in South America, Africa and Indonesia where wide scale
logging is causing serious environmental concerns both for the
indigenous wildlife and global warming. |
